Buying diesel and large truck stops is NOT cheaper. Gas perhaps but not diesel. All of the major truck stops charge 15 to 30 cents per gallon more than the small, independent stations. Like anything else, shop around for the best price. The price of diesel at the larger truck stops is NEVER the lowest price in the area unless they're the ONLY source in the area. They do offer good values on food and drink. Guess how they make up for that. They charge more for diesel.

listen, i went to pilot because gas was $3.83 so i figured it was a good deal.. WRONG okay i went in for only 25$ with my visa debit card. i went to look at my bank statement by chance and i noticed they charged me 151$ !!!! I spoke with the pilot manager and he said that there is a "memo" posted stating they have the right to hold up to $151 dollars until they decide to charge the actual card! so what if i didn't have 151$...my bank would of charged me an over draft fee and it wasn't even my fault. i will never use my credit card at a gas station. its just another way corporate american is making a buck off citizens. THEN pilot charges a 1$ just to use they damn gas station. Ridiculous. Check your cards everyone and cash is always the better way.

They may have the lowest prices, however, BEWARE, I purchased $35 worth of gas with a visa card and was charged $151. When I called the station, they informed we that Visa Card &/or the Banks are requiring authorizations for $100 - $150 more than the actual purchase. I called my bank and they said its PILOT that's overcharging, not the bank. Once the actual sale is posted, the authorization goes away, but if you don't have the credit line, it can really screw you up. NOT WORTH THE PENNIES YOU SAVE AT PILOT!!!!
